Cardinal Media, the original owner of 102.1 The Hits Santa Rosa, has officially rebranded and is now operating under new management as Redwood Media Group. This transition marks a bold new chapter in local broadcasting, as Redwood Media Group becomes Sonoma County’s first fully local digital radio and media group.
Redwood Media Group proudly owns and operates the popular online radio station 102.1 The Hits, as well as the newly launched Sonoma County Times, a digital-first local news platform serving the community with fresh, relevant, and hyperlocal journalism.
The rebrand reflects not only a new name but a renewed mission: to deliver engaging digital content, music, and news created by locals, for locals.
Meet the New Leadership Team
- Ventura Smalley, Co-Founder and Head of Programming, brings years of hands-on experience both behind the mic and in radio programming. With a strong passion for community-driven broadcasting, Ventura is committed to creating stations that reflect the unique spirit of Sonoma County.
- Brandi Blevins, Co-Founder and General Manager, oversees daily operations and sales. With a stellar background in sales and a strategic vision for growth, Brandi will also serve as a Program Director for one of Redwood Media Group’s upcoming stations.

Looking ahead, Redwood Media Group has ambitious plans to expand its footprint, with four new digital radio stations currently in development. Each will serve distinct audiences and offer fresh programming that highlights local voices, music, and stories.
